Cultivating Mindfulness and True Happiness

We extend a warm and heartfelt invitation to join us for a transformative 3-day retreat with Drupon Lama Dorje, a Buddhist monk from Tibet, who will share how to live a happy and meaningful life. This retreat aims to provide a nurturing space for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of mindfulness, cultivate compassionate living, and explore the transformative power of meditation.

Some of the teachings and practices that Lama Dorje will share:

The Four Foundations of Mindfulness

• Explore mindfulness of body, feelings, mind, and phenomena through guided meditation sessions.
• Cultivate awareness and presence in each moment, fostering a deep connection with your inner self.

Human Ethics (Shila): The Ten Virtues

• Delve into the principles of ethical conduct with teachings on the ten virtues.
• Understand how ethical living contributes to personal well-being, harmonious relationships and happiness.

Walking Meditation: Connecting with the Present Moment

• Experience the meditative practice of walking mindfully, bringing attention to each step and breath.
• Connect with nature and cultivate a sense of peace and tranquility through contemplative walks in the gardens of Casa Werma.

At the conclusion of this retreat, Lama Dorje will offer a refuge ceremony to any retreatants who wish to take their refuge vow. Refuge is a ceremony where individuals formally express their commitment to seeking guidance and protection from the Three Jewels: the Buddha, the Dharma (his teachings), and the Sangha (spiritual community). By taking refuge, practitioners acknowledge their trust in these sources of enlightenment and aspire to align their lives with the principles and teachings of Buddhism. It symbolizes a conscious choice to seek refuge from the uncertainties and challenges of cyclic existence in the unwavering wisdom of the Buddha, the path outlined in his teachings, and the support of a like-minded community.

This retreat is open to the public; no prerequisites. Lama Dorje will be offering this retreat in Spanish and is accompanied by an English translator.
