Sacred Path: Ordinary Magic & Authentic Presence
con Joe Litven and Rhea Colmar
November 11 - 22, 2026
The principles of Shambhala show how we can conduct ourselves as warriors with fearlessness and rejoicing, without destroying one another. In this way, the vision of the Great Eastern Sun can be promoted, and the goodness in everyone’s heart can be realized. ~ Chogyam Trungpa, Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior.
The Sacred Path is fruitional in the student warrior’s journey. It deepens understanding of basic goodness by providing potent perspectives and practice to connect to the immediacy of our experience at any moment. The brilliance of the Great Eastern Sun illuminates, guides and inspires the Sacred Path. Windhorse practice arouses the energy of basic goodness and cuts confusion on the spot, allowing us to experience the ordinary magic of nowness.
We will explore the 4 dignities of Meek (Tiger), Perky (Lion), Outrageous (Garuda) and Inscrutable (Dragon) and how they provide practical methods for living our daily lives in sacredness. The dignities open us to our natural authentic presence, which is both powerful and kind.
The program culminates in the Golden Key, which expands on how to relate with our world with elegance, simplicity and richness.
The retreat includes online preparatory classes to help prepare students for entering the sacred path:
- Sunday, Oct. 11th: Shambhala: Historical origins
- Sunday, Oct. 18th: What is Terma?
- Sunday, Oct. 25th: Shambhala: Contemporary presentation and context
