Shambhala Training is the study and practice of Shambhala warriorship: living fearlessly in the present moment with open hearts and compassion towards all. It is founded on the teachings of Chogyam Trungpa as presented in the book, Shambhala: Sacred Path of the Warrior and it emphasizes the simple and profound technique of mindfulness and awareness meditation to help us realize our own potential and create a good human society on this earth.

Shambhala Training Level 1: The Art of Being Human is a weekend program that includes meditation instruction and practice, lectures, group discussion and individual meetings with a meditation instructor. The program is open to all people of all religious traditions as well as those who do not follow a particular spiritual path.

Tentative schedule:
Friday, June 7, 2024, 6 pm – 8 pm, Public talk
Saturday, June 8, 2024, 10 am – 7 pm, Group retreat (lunch and snack included)
Sunday, June 9, 2024, 10 am – 6 pm, Group retreat (lunch and snack included)

This program is open to the public; no prerequisites. 

Full program tuition not including accommodations: $850 pesos/$50.00 USD. We are committed to including people of all income levels; scholarship and a sliding scale are available. If you need financial assistance, we encourage you to send us an email.

Pay-It-Forward program tuition not including accommodations: $1705 pesos/$100 USD.

We invite all who are able to do so to consider paying the Pay-It-Forward tuition rate. Travel arrangements: We recommend flights into Morelia airport (90 minutes away by car). We can help with travel arrangements, please inquire about options. Please visit our How to Get Here  page for more info. All participant air travel will be offset by The Good Traveler carbon offset program.
